GEOCACHE – AMAZING RACE
Grades 6 - 10 (1 week - 2 hours)
Monday, June 8th - Friday, June 12th
10:00am - 12:00pm
Cost: $90 per student
If you can use a cell phone, you can learn how to use a GPS unit. Did you know that there is a "cache" at the Colliseum in Rome? Using portable GPS units, students will learn how they work and how to use them to find, and stage hunts for, coordinates that are the locations for hidden treasure. We'll start with basic compass/directions/GPS information and, by week's end, you will take part in an AMAZING RACE challenge -- traipsing around campus looking for caches placed by instructors and students. Come and learn about the global phenomenon that is geocaching!
